Equipment

We use an infrared and visible light sensitive video camera with a macro zoom lens. The images are viewed on a TV monitor placed behind the patient. The exam can also be recorded to videotape or computer for later use.

A "Finhoff" transilluminator is used as the light source. These are the common light source found in almost every ophthalmic exam room. The Halogen light source has light extending into the IR range.
